Newsbrief: Blizzard has patched its classic action-RPG Diablo II almost 16 years after the game launched in July 2000.
Update 1.14a – the first since October, 2011 – should ensure the game runs smoothly on modern PCs by wiping out any system glitches introduced by new tech, and also includes a new installer for OSX as well as improved hack-prevention and cheat-detection capabilities.
After running through the details Blizzard took the time to make a cryptic announcement, telling players “this journey starts by making Diablo II run on modern platforms, but it does not end there. See you in Sanctuary, adventurers.”
As for what that means; your guess is as good as ours.
